BHABHUA--------------------------A highly sensational case has emerged from the Kudra police station area in the district, where a woman was abducted and subjected to brutal violence on the false accusation of stealing a chain. The victim's son, Sonu Kumar, has filed a formal complaint at the police station regarding this matter, pleading for justice. According to the information received, Shiv Kumari Devi—mother of Sonu Kumar (son of the late Laxman Ram) and a resident of Kudra Bazaar—left her home around 10:00 AM on April 29, 2026, to travel to Dehri to attend a *Shraddha* ceremony for her sister. While she was on her way—before reaching Kudra Station—she was intercepted by three men and one woman who, accusing her of chain theft, forcibly bundled her into a Scorpio vehicle and abducted her.

The complaint alleges that the accused individuals include Krishna Seth (son of the late Shiv Prasad Seth) and Amit Raj (son of the late Seth)—both residents of Newras, under the Kudra police station jurisdiction—along with other unidentified persons. The accused took the woman to Newras village, held her captive, and subjected her to physical assault, indecent behavior, and inhumane torture. The victim was stripped of her clothes and brutally beaten, sustaining severe injuries in the process. Furthermore, approximately ₹40,000 was looted from the bag she was carrying. It is further alleged that the accused attempted to kill the woman by placing a noose around her neck, acting with the specific intent to murder her. After extensive searching by her family members—and as news of the incident began to spread, raising fears among the accused that the police might arrive—the perpetrators abandoned the woman in an injured state near a pond in Newras village under the cover of darkness and fled the scene. Subsequently, the family members took the woman to a government hospital for medical attention, where she is currently undergoing treatment. The victim's family has appealed to the administration to take the strictest possible legal action against the culprits. Meanwhile, the police have commenced an investigation into the matter. This incident has created an atmosphere of fear and outrage within the local community. Now it remains to be seen how swiftly the police take action in this serious matter.
