The Shri Hanumat Dham temple in Kamarpur, Sadar block, is currently immersed in an extraordinary aura of devotion, renunciation, and spirituality. The Sant Sadgurudev Smriti Mahotsav, being held here, emerged as a spiritual festival on its tenth day, where devotees remained engrossed in the Lord's stories, hymns, and service from morning till night. The tenth day of the festival began with a collective recitation of the Shri Ramcharitmanas in the morning. The temple premises were filled with devotion by the chanting of mantras and the sweet sounds of Rama's name. The devotees recited the verses in unison, purifying the atmosphere.
In the afternoon, the third day of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha was held. Katha Vyas Umesh Bhai Ojha narrated the poignant story of Rishi Kardama's rigorous penance, his marriage to Devahuti, and his desire for a son. He said that if a devout son is born into a family, twenty-one generations are liberated. Umesh Bhai explained the profound secret of life through Kabir's couplets and said that "the mind is the cause of both bondage and liberation." He explained that even if the body remains in the world, if the mind is attached to God, life itself becomes a pilgrimage. Calling service the root of devotion, he said that a person who serves guests becomes fulfilled.
During the discourse, he also said that a mother should only desire three types of sons: a devotee, a generous person, or a brave one. When this happens, the home itself becomes the abode of God. Referring to the descendants of Sage Kardama and Devahuti, and the Samkhya philosophy of Kapil Muni, he emphasized that devotion is superior to ritualistic actions.
In the devotional singing program held in the evening, renowned bhajan singer Dharmendra Vyas captivated the devotees with his melodious bhajans. Devotees were seen swaying to bhajans like "Beete Gaye Din Bhajan Bina Re" (The days have passed without singing bhajans). The temple premises resonated with applause and chants.
An atmosphere of devotion prevails throughout the region. Saints, sages, and devotees are arriving at Hanumat Dham not only from nearby areas but also from far-off places.
This festival will conclude on December 31st with a grand community feast. This event at Hanumat Dham is not merely a religious ritual, but has emerged as a spiritual message that guides life in the right direction, where people are being urged to connect their minds with God.
