BUXAR--------------------------The long-awaited problem of Dumraon town is finally moving towards a solution. The problems faced by the residents due to the absence of a drain on Station Road for decades have now begun to be soothed by development.

As soon as the construction of the drain began from the main gate of the block office, a wave of joy and relief swept through the people. This is the same road where, whether it rains or the sewage from the houses, everything would get clogged in the road cuttings and become a problem for the residents.

The long-awaited problem of Dumraon town is finally moving towards a solution. The problems faced by the residents due to the absence of a drain on Station Road for decades have now been soothed by development.

As soon as the construction of the drain began from the main gate of the block office, a wave of joy and relief swept through the people. This is the same road where, whether it rains or the sewage from homes, everything would fill the road cuttings, causing trouble for the residents.

This stretch of Station Road, from Mahraura turn to the Vishnu Bhagwan Temple, was without a drain for years. Water from homes, rainwater runoff, and waterlogging from surrounding colonies would collect in the cuttings along the roadside. The situation would become so dire that the water would overflow and flow onto the road. This not only disrupted traffic, but the quality of the road was also rapidly deteriorating. The road began to break and disintegrate, posing a risk of accidents.

The Municipal Council shrugged off this problem for years. The reason given was that Station Road was part of NH-120, so the Municipal Council could not interfere in its construction. As a result, the demand for drain construction remained buried in files for decades. Station Road, one of the city's main arteries, gradually fell into disrepair. Newly elected MLA Rahul Kumar Singh took this pressing issue seriously. He spoke directly with the Municipal Council's Executive Officer, Rahuldhar Dubey, and proposed the construction of a drain and assured funding.

As a result of the MLA's activism, work on the drain began on Wednesday. As soon as the work began, the faces of local residents who had suffered for years brightened.

The MLA's initiatives didn't stop there. First, he coordinated with the NH Executive Engineer to have the potholes on Station Road filled, making the road passable. Following this, the blacktopping work from the new police station to the training school began.

During the blacktopping work, a temporary ban has been imposed on vehicular traffic on the road. The road has been blocked with stones near the new police station and the training school, allowing the construction agency to work without any hindrance.

The closure of traffic on the road is facilitating the construction company's work and maintaining the quality of the work. Locals believe that if work is carried out in this planned manner, Station Road will not only be free of waterlogging but will also be durable over the long term.

Four years ago, a drain was constructed from Naya Thana to Mahraura Mor, but work beyond that remained incomplete. Now, a drainage channel for water coming from the Block Office complex, Khirouli, Lalganj Kadvi, Textiles Colony, and Chanakya Colony is also about to be opened. This work, begun after decades, has raised hopes among the city residents that Station Road will no longer be a symbol of disrepair, but a symbol of development.
