ARA------------------------------In this era of chameleon-like politics and the centralization of power, all political parties and organizations that believe in social justice must set aside their petty self-interests, egos, and ambitions to unite under a shared program and a clear vision.
Bihar—a land that has historically been the cradle of revolution, knowledge, and social change—is today witnessing insidious conspiracies aimed at gradually undermining the forces of social justice. The very sections of society that have historically championed the rights of the deprived, the neglected, and the exploited are now being subjected to attempts at vilification and persecution.
Attention to the nation's burning issues remains negligible. Inflation has reached its peak. Unemployment is rising rapidly. The chasm between the rich and the poor is widening continuously. Farmers are mired in debt and crisis. The education and healthcare systems are gradually slipping into private hands.
Despite this, by sidelining these critical issues, attempts are being made to divide society along the lines of religion and caste. Questions are also being raised regarding the impartiality of democratic institutions within the country—a dangerous sign for any democracy. This is the very nation whose great freedom fighters and social reformers—
Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, and Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan—dreamed of an India where equality, justice, and liberty would reign supreme.
I appeal to the people of this country to rise above emotional and misleading issues, and to reflect upon and make decisions regarding matters concerning their rights, development, and future.
If all the forces committed to social justice do not unite in time, democracy may be weakened in the days to come, and the voice of the common people could be stifled.
