BUXAR------------------------On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, a grand 'Chait Mahotsav' (Chait Festival) was organized at the Kali Temple complex in Boksa village, within the district, under the aegis of the Adarsh Navyuvak Puja Samiti. To mark this occasion, a magnificent musical showdown featuring renowned Bhojpuri 'Dugola' singers was held, drawing a massive crowd of villagers eager to witness the event.
The program featured a musical contest between prominent Bhojpuri Dugola singers—Kamalbas Kunwar 'Vyas', Budha Vyas, and Sunil Rai Vyas. All three artists captivated the audience until late into the night with their traditional 'Chaita' songs and polished performances.
Former Minister of the Uttar Pradesh Government, Narad Rai, and the Block Chief of Bhavarkol, Anand Rai, attended the festival as the chief guests. While commending the event, they remarked that such cultural gatherings serve to give a renewed identity to rural traditions and folk culture.
Several dignitaries attended the event as special guests, including Chausa Block Chief Dhananjay Rai (alias Guddu Rai), Buxar Block Chief Ramesh Rai (alias Matru Rai), President of the Brahmrishi Samaj Rakesh Rai (alias Kallu Rai), Simri Block Chief Vijay Shankar Mishra, Buxar Vice-Chairman Sunil Mishra, District Council candidates Prashant Pandey (Buxar West) and Damdam Rai (Simri), Sarpanch of Jarigawa Akhilesh Chaubey, former Mukhiya and current PACS President Muna Singh, Mukhiya of Antravana Sachindra Singh, PACS President Anu Singh, and PACS President of Lakhandehra, Manoj Rai.
Members of the organizing committee stated that the Chait Mahotsav is celebrated annually on Ram Navami, fostering social unity and promoting cultural heritage within the village. This year's event proved to be particularly memorable due to its grandeur and the overwhelming public participation it garnered.
At the conclusion of the program, the committee honored all the participating artists and guests by presenting them with traditional ceremonial scarves (*Angavastra*) and mementos.
