ARA---------------------------An ally party MP claimed on some channel that he had raised the issue in Parliament regarding the work being done to stop the erosion of the Ganga river in Jawainiya village. Shahpur MLA rejects this claim and says that when the work is in its final stage, many people are coming forward to take credit.
According to Tiwari, he was first told about this problem by the people of Damodarpur village on the day of Govardhan Puja. The villagers had expressed apprehension that after the construction of the dam in Nauranga village of Uttar Pradesh, the pressure of the Ganga river has increased towards Jawainiya and Damodarpur.
He met the Chief Minister regarding this issue. In every session of the Assembly, he raised a question related to the erosion. He continuously contacted the then departmental minister Sanjay Jha, Principal Secretary and other officials. The file was sent to the department through the District Magistrate of Bhojpur. He met the officials at Patel Bhawan in Patna and showed them the pictures of houses falling due to erosion, after which the seriousness of the matter was understood. After his efforts, this scheme was approved in a meeting of the department. Tiwari himself suggested that this work should be done with the same technology with which erosion was successfully stopped in Nauranga village of Uttar Pradesh, which was accepted by the department.
Rahul Tiwari says that the people of Shahpur have sent him to the assembly and it was his responsibility. He was continuously engaged in this work, as a result of which today this safety dam is being completed before the rains. He clarified that there may be many people taking credit today, but the real hard work and effort is his, and the local people are aware of this truth.
