BUXAR------------------------A violent clash erupted between two factions over the harvesting of crops on government land in the Gayghat Mouza, located within the jurisdiction of the Nainijor police station in the subdivision. During the ensuing exchange of gunfire, one individual sustained a gunshot wound and died on the spot. The incident occurred on Saturday night at approximately 11:00 PM. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police took swift action and arrested three accused individuals. However, as of the time this report was being written, no FIR had yet been registered in connection with this case.

The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Tarkeshwar Yadav—son of the late Kailash Yadav—a resident of Yadav Tola in Ward 09, Nainijor. Following the incident, the police arrested a local villager, the owner of the harvester machine, and its driver.

The police are currently investigating the roles played by other individuals involved in this incident. SDPO Polast Kumar has confirmed the arrests.

It is worth noting that a land dispute has been ongoing for decades in the Gayghat Mouza of Nainijor. This dispute has claimed dozens of lives over the years. It is reported that the specific plot of land over which the dispute regarding crop harvesting arose is government property. Tarkeshwar Yadav had gone to the site at night, accompanied by members of his faction, to harvest the standing wheat crop; at approximately 11:00 PM, the opposing faction arrived at the scene, leading to a violent clash between the two groups. During this altercation, firing from one side resulted in Tarkeshwar sustaining gunshot wounds to his neck and chest, leading to his death on the spot.

Chaos ensued at the scene following the incident. Upon receiving the information, the local police and the SDPO immediately arrived at the site and brought the situation under control. The police have promptly apprehended three individuals. In this regard, SDPO Polast Kumar stated that the dispute arose over the harvesting of crops on government land. Three individuals, including the notorious mafia figure Manan Tiwari, have been arrested in connection with this case. Raids are currently being conducted to apprehend the remaining accused. The SDPO asserted that no one would be spared. Meanwhile, this incident also raises questions regarding the cultivation of crops on government land.
