RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

SASARAM------------------------In accordance with the directives of the District Programme Officer (Secondary Education), Rohtas—Mrs. Priyanka Kumari—a significant district-level meeting of Scout Masters and Guide Captains of the Bharat Scouts and Guides was organized on April 2, 2026, at Shri Shankar High School, Takiya, Sasaram. This meeting was conducted under the leadership of the District Organizing Commissioner (Scouts), Mr. Arvind Kumar Singh, and saw the participation of Scout Masters and Guide Captains from various schools across the district's blocks, including Shivsagar, Chenari, Kargahar, Kochas, Dinara, Bikramganj, Suryapura, Dawath, and Nauhatta. The primary objectives of the meeting were to enhance the effectiveness and vibrancy of scouting activities, to formulate a framework for upcoming programs, and to foster discipline, a spirit of service, and leadership capabilities among students. Addressing all the Scout Masters and Guide Captains on this occasion, the District Organizing Commissioner stated that the Scout and Guide movement serves as a powerful medium for the holistic development of children. He noted that the Scout movement originated in 1907 on Brownsea Island in England, while in India, the Scout movement began in 1909 and the Guide movement in 1911. At that time, these activities were being conducted in India under various names such as the Boy Scouts Association, Girl Guides in India, Balchar Seva Samiti, and several other smaller scouting organizations. Following the enactment of the Constitution, on November 7, 1950, all these smaller organizations in India were merged into a single entity named "The Bharat Scouts and Guides." Since then, to this day, "The Bharat Scouts and Guides" remains the sole authentic and government-recognized organization for scouting and guiding activities in India. Speaking on the occasion, the Treasurer of The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Mr. Rishikesh Kumar Jha, emphasized the need to strengthen the functioning of units in all schools, to organize regular training sessions, and to actively encourage a greater number of students to join this movement. The meeting also featured detailed discussions regarding upcoming training camps, community service initiatives, rallies, and various other activities. Additionally, all Scout Masters and Guide Captains were urged to ensure their active participation within their respective schools. Finally, Mr. Ajay Kumar—the Acting Headmaster of Shri Shankar High School, Takiya—administered a pledge to all the attending Scout Masters and Guide Captains, encouraging them to advance the objectives of the organization and to participate enthusiastically in social service activities. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, Headmaster of the Higher Secondary School, Mani (Bikramganj). Present on this occasion were Scouts Piyush Kumar, Pawan Kumar, and Ashutosh Kumar, as well as Guide Captains Deep Rani Raj, Riya Kumari, and Kajal Kumari.
