PATNA-----------------------During election campaigning in Kerala, an English speech delivered by Tejashwi Yadav has gone viral. BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar has launched a scathing attack on his statement regarding grammatical errors, thereby heating up the political atmosphere.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav delivered a spirited speech in English while campaigning for three of his party's candidates in Kerala. This video is now circulating widely. In the video, Tejashwi Yadav committed several errors in the English he spoke. Seizing upon this, the BJP has mocked the Leader of the Opposition's proficiency in English. The BJP claims that a "fact-check" has exposed the hollowness of Tejashwi Yadav's English skills.
Bihar BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar took a sharp jibe at Tejashwi, stating that his English has still not progressed beyond the level of someone who failed the ninth grade. BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar remarked: "While delivering an English speech in Kerala, Tejashwi Yadav *Ji* said—'I have come from Bihar state, which is the poorest state of the country.' Oh, Tejashwi *Ji*, first fix your grammar! What is the need to say 'Bihar state'? Bihar is a state in itself; adding the word 'state' is completely redundant and incorrect. 'I have come from' implies having just arrived after a journey, whereas what you actually meant was 'I belong to Bihar.' The correct sentence would be—'I am from Bihar' or 'I come from Bihar.'
Your English has not yet risen above the level of a ninth-grade dropout; even after studying, you still speak incorrectly. You talk about the 'poorest state,' yet your own English is at the 'poorest level'! The BJP is working towards transforming Bihar from the 'poorest' to the 'richest' state; meanwhile, before you talk about development, you should try to make your own grammar and sentence structure 'richest.' Until you can correct your own mistake regarding the phrase 'have come,' you have no right to lecture on the development of Bihar. Stop tarnishing and defaming Bihar, *Maharaj*!" It is worth noting that, as part of the alliance in Kerala, the LDF has allotted three seats to the RJD. The RJD has fielded M.K. Bhaskaran from the Vadakara seat in Kozhikode district, P.K. Praveen from the Koothuparamba seat in Kannur district, and P.K. Anil from the Kalpetta seat in Wayanad district. Against this backdrop—and following a series of defeats in the Assembly and Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar—Tejashwi took to the campaign trail in Kerala to campaign against the Congress; however, questions are now being raised regarding the English he spoke during his campaign.
