ARA--------------------------A workshop under the 'Kharif Mega Campaign' was organized on Saturday at the e-Kisan Bhawan complex located at the Shahpur Block headquarters. The workshop was formally inaugurated by local MLA Er. Rakesh Ranjan Ojha through the lighting of a ceremonial lamp. The event was presided over by Block Agriculture Officer Rajan Shukla, while coordinators Randhir Goswami and Nitish Siddharth jointly conducted the proceedings.
Addressing the Kharif Mega Campaign workshop, MLA Rakesh Ranjan stated that it is imperative for the benefits of various state government schemes aimed at farmer welfare to reach them in a timely manner. He urged the farmers present to assimilate the information provided by agricultural scientists and adopt a scientific approach to farming. This, he noted, would not only increase crop yields but also improve the farmers' economic status.
During the event, Agriculture Department officials provided detailed information to farmers regarding the importance of soil testing and the necessity of organic farming. Experts explained that the use of organic manure is crucial for maintaining soil fertility and ensuring long-term benefits.
BDO Shatrunjay Kumar Singh emphasized the importance of balanced nutrient management alongside chemical farming methods to achieve better yields at a lower cost. Meanwhile, Block Agriculture Officer Rajan Shukla highlighted the need for a proper balance between organic and chemical farming techniques. Farmers were also provided with vital information regarding improved varieties of crops such as Garma Moong, Dhaincha (green manure), paddy, maize, and Marua (finger millet).
Several Agriculture Department employees and a large number of progressive farmers attended the event. Notable attendees included Agriculture Advisors Vishwakarma and Ravibhushan; BJP Mandal Presidents Bhuvar Pandey, Umesh Chandra Pandey, Ravindra Ojha, Rajendra Mishra, and Vijay Shankar Pathak; Advisor Santosh; Pramukh representative Putul Sah (alias Gelha Sah); and Ramashankar Mishra.
