ARA---------------------------On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, a blood donor felicitation ceremony and a voluntary blood donation camp were organized at the Red Cross Blood Center in Arrah, managed by the Bhojpur District Unit of the Indian Red Cross Society. This year's slogan for World Blood Donor Day is "One Drop of Humanity: Give Blood, Save Lives." With the aim of inspiring youth to donate blood for the sake of humanity and save lives, donors who had voluntarily donated blood multiple times—specifically two, three, or four times—between April 1, 2025, and June 14, 2026, were honored with mementos and certificates. Additionally, 15 organizations that supported the organization of voluntary blood donation camps throughout the year were honored. Key among these were Vihangam Yoga Sansthan, Rotary Club of Arrah, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Lions Club of Arrah (Adhunik), Prerna Ek Pahal Foundation, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and Shri Hanumat Mandir Jirnoddhar Samiti. A total of 25 young people donated blood at today's camp; participants included Red Cross life members, students from the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Maharaja College, and youth from the RSS. All 25 donors were honored with certificates and mementos. The program was presided over by Medical Officer Dr. Virendra Pratap Singh, while Assistant Registration Officer Ms. Ruchi Sharma attended as the chief guest. In her address, Ms. Ruchi Sharma mentioned that the Registration Office had also organized a blood donation camp the previous day, where 16 people donated blood; she added that they are planning to organize a mega camp in the future for this noble cause. She highly commended the youth for stepping forward to donate blood. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dinesh Prasad Sinha, Patron and Convener of the Blood Donation Committee, provided detailed information about the blood donation process and its benefits. They also emphasized the need to raise awareness within society. Addressing the event, some blood donors shared their views; Bhuvan Pandey mentioned that the 'Prerna Ek Pehal Foundation' is striving to boost awareness in rural areas and encourage societal participation in blood donation. The academy's director stated that they have a youth organization and aim to regularly host blood donation camps through their institute while continuing to spread awareness in rural areas. Mr. Sunil Pandey—a Red Cross Society life member and voluntary donor who has donated blood approximately 55–56 times—shared his experiences and shed light on the blood donation process. He also advised donors to ensure their donor cards are not misused; they should verify whether someone requesting their card genuinely needs it. He remarked that if a person seeks to save a family member's life by using someone else's donor card instead of donating blood themselves, they are unlikely to contribute meaningfully to society; one needs to be wary of such individuals. The event was also addressed by Patron Mohammad Mazhar Hasnain, senior members Ram Kumar Singh, Awadhesh Pandey, and Dr. Vijay Gupta. The presence of Deputy Patrons Krishna Madhav Agarwal and Sanjeev Gupta, along with members Manoj Kumar Gupta, Gupteshwar Singh, and others, was noteworthy. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by senior member Ashok Sharma. The entire event was conducted under the supervision of Red Cross Secretary Dr. Vibha Kumari. The blood donors for the day were:

Rupali Kumari, Rakesh Kumar Tiwari, Bittu Kumar, Prince Paswan, Abhinav Kumar, Rupesh Kumar Srivastava, Aman Kumar, Dhanoj Kumar Kevat, Vishal Kumar Singh, Amarjit Kumar, Ravi Singh, Sonu Kumar Singh, Vikas Kumar, Narendra Kumar Singh, Ravi Nandan Singh, Sunil Kumar, Ankit Kumar Singh, and others.
