GST RAID IN TEXTILE BUSINESSMEN

ARA----------------------------A team from the State Tax Department (GST) launched a surgical strike on the business empire of Lallu Bhai, a prominent textile businessman in Bihar. Based on a strong tip-off about tax evasion, the department simultaneously raided Lallu Bhai Mall's establishments in four different cities. This sudden action has created panic among traders across the region.

The raids are being led by State Tax Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters, Patna) Kamlesh Kumar and Bhabua Zone Joint Commissioner Abhay Kumar. The team includes several senior officials from the headquarters, including Satish Kumar, Umesh Kumar, and Assistant Commissioner Ashutosh. The operation, which began around 2:30 pm, continued until late evening. The team has currently seized the mall's computer data, stock registers, and important financial documents.

According to officials, the mall management was evading tax on value addition on a large scale. Joint Commissioner Abhay Kumar stated that the businessman was not paying the tax correctly. During the investigation, the management failed to produce even basic documents like the rent agreement. Furthermore, attempts were made to conceal computer data to evade the team, which the department has taken seriously.

Initial investigations have raised suspicions that the establishment was simply playing the game of tax adjustment through fake bills and input tax credit (ITC). The department is now matching the seized documents with the actual stock to determine the exact amount of evasion.
