BHABHUA----------------------A sensation gripped the area on Thursday after the body of a 22-year-old youth was discovered near a canal and the fields of Baghini village, located within the jurisdiction of the Mohania police station. The deceased has been identified as Shashi Kumar (22), son of Shivkumar Ram and a resident of Naua Jhoti village under the Bhabua police station area. The incident caused a stir within the police department. Upon receiving the information, the Kaimur SP, Mohania SDPO Gopal Krishna, the Station House Officer (SHO), the Circle Inspector, and teams from the FSL and dog squad arrived at the scene and commenced an investigation. According to reports, Shashi Kumar was living in a rented house in Bhabua for his studies. His family stated that he had left home on the morning of June 9, after which his mobile phone was switched off, and he could not be contacted. On Thursday morning, a farmer spotted the body near his pump house in the fields of Baghini village and informed the local *chowkidar* (village watchman).

Subsequently, the police arrived at the site, took the body into custody, and established its identity. The deceased's father, Shivkumar Ram, alleged that a female relative—his niece Manju Devi—had been pressuring Shashi to marry her son. He suspects that Shashi was murdered and his body dumped after he refused the marriage proposal. He mentioned that Shashi was his only son and that the family has been devastated by this tragedy. Meanwhile, SDPO Gopal Krishna stated that the police had received information about a body being found near the canal and took immediate action to secure the body. Following the identification of the body by the family... The body has been sent to Bhabua Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. An FSL team has been summoned for a scientific investigation, and some suspects are being questioned. The motive behind the murder will only be revealed once the investigation is complete. A sense of fear prevails among the local population due to the recent spate of criminal incidents and murders in the area. Villagers state that criminals are carrying out these acts with impunity, leading to growing concerns about safety among the general public. The police have stated that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly investigated and that the culprits will be arrested soon.
