BHABHUA-------------------------A block-level 'Sharadiya (Kharif) Mega Campaign 2026' event was organized at the Kudra block headquarters premises. During the program, agricultural scientists and officials from the Agriculture Department briefed farmers on various aspects of modern and natural farming, placing special emphasis on the balanced use of fertilizers to boost production.
The event was attended by a large number of farmers from various villages in the block, alongside Dr. Manish Kumar (Soil Expert, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Adhaura, Kaimur) and Naveen Kumar Singh (Associate Project Director, ATMA Kaimur). Farmers were provided with detailed information regarding soil health conservation, the balanced application of fertilizers, natural farming practices, and government-run agricultural schemes.
Addressing the farmers, Dr. Manish Kumar stated that the balanced use of chemical fertilizers is essential to maintain soil fertility. He explained that applying fertilizers based on soil test results increases yields and reduces cultivation costs. Encouraging farmers to adopt natural farming, he noted that the government aims to promote natural farming across 25 percent of the agricultural sector in the near future.
He advised farmers against burning crop residue (stubble and straw), explaining that burning raises soil temperature, thereby destroying beneficial soil microorganisms, earthworms, and other helpful organisms. Furthermore, the burning process depletes the soil's existing organic carbon, which adversely affects soil fertility and reduces overall production capacity.
Associate Project Director Naveen Kumar Singh briefed farmers on departmental schemes, noting that the government is implementing various programs to increase farmers' income. He urged farmers to avail themselves of these schemes and adopt modern agricultural techniques. He also provided detailed information on the scientific cultivation of paddy and pulse crops during the Kharif season.
During the meeting, farmers raised agricultural issues and queries with the scientists, and the experts provided appropriate solutions. The objective of the program was to raise awareness among farmers about scientific and natural farming methods and to provide information on innovative techniques to boost agricultural productivity.
Describing the training program as beneficial, the farmers noted that they gained insights into new farming techniques and government schemes—knowledge that would help make their farming operations more profitable in the future.
