ARA----------------------------In a state where numerous challenges regarding education, healthcare, irrigation, employment, and basic amenities still persist today, the utilization of public funds in any government program must be undertaken with extreme prudence and with due regard for established priorities.

If schools are closed for the sake of an oath-taking ceremony—and if *Jivika Didis*, *Anganwadi* workers and assistants, and employees from various departments are summoned to Patna under administrative pressure—it naturally raises a multitude of questions. Education suffers, the daily routines of the general public are disrupted, and an undue burden is placed upon government resources.

In a democracy, an oath-taking ceremony is a constitutional process that deserves respect; however, the ceremony itself can certainly be conducted with simplicity. In exceptional circumstances—should the need arise for frequent cabinet expansions or oath-taking ceremonies within a short span of time—one must refrain from excessive expenditure and ostentatious displays of power.

In a state where every child is born bearing a debt of thousands of rupees, the government's foremost priority ought to be strengthening the education system, improving the condition of hospitals, ensuring irrigation facilities for farmers, providing employment opportunities for the youth, and elevating the standard of living for the poor.

If, indeed, a sum amounting to approximately ₹100 crore is being expended on an oath-taking ceremony, it is only natural for the public to question whether such a colossal amount could not have been utilized for more pressing causes in the public interest.

Regardless of which political party holds the reins of power, the citizens in a democracy expect to witness not a display of authority, but rather a commitment to public service, simplicity, and accountability.
