A GIRL STUDENT, PREPARING FOR POLICE RECRUITMENT WAS KILLED BY GIVING OVERDOSE OF MEDICINE AFTER GANG RAPE

Ara (RNI) A case of gang rape of a 20 year old second year graduate student and her murder by giving her overdose of medicine to increase sex power in the library about 250 meters away from the Hasan Bazaar police station has come to light in Bhojpur district. The family members of the girl performed her last rites in haste due to social stigma without conducting post-mortem. The incident took place on May 22, 2025 when she had gone to study in the library at Hasan Bazaar police station area.

Bhojpur SP Mister Raj said that three friends gang-raped the 20 year old girl student in a room located on the second floor of the library. On information, the family members reached the library and saw that the girl was lying unconscious and her clothes were also torn. The family members took her to a medical shop nearby but the shopkeeper advised them to take her to the Piro Hospital but the girl died on way to the hospital. Due to social stigma, the family members performed her last rites without informing the police. Initial investigation revealed that the rapists fraudulently administered the girl a sex-enhancing drug before the rape and she fell unconscious due to overdose of sex-enhancing drug.

The SP further said that the police arrested D C Yadav of Katar village under Hasan Bazaar police station so far and are conducting raids to arrest the rest rapists. He added that during interrogation, he confessed his involvement in the rape and also revealed names two of his aides Vikas Yadav and Bablu Yadav of Katar village. Besides, the police are investigating the role of the library operator.

The elder brother of the deceased lodged an FIR with the police under Hasan Bazaar police station against five persons including the library operator blaming that the rapists had administered her heavy dose of sex-enhancing drug before the gang rape. Due to gang rape and over dose of drug she was wreathing with pain and later fell unconscious.

Younger sister of the deceased said that her elder sister had gone to the ground to practice after finishing all the household work on May 22, 2025 as usual. She was preparing for a job in the police and practice, she went to the library to study where three monsters outraged her modesty and also administered over doze of sex-enhancing drug.

The SP stated that during interrogation, the arrested rapist said that on May 22, 2025, the girl was practicing in the playground when one of them called her and lured her to the library where they made her take sex power enhancing drug. First he and then his two friends raped her when no one was there. The girl’s condition worsened after she was given sex power enhancing drug and due to heat. After that they left her in the library in a lurch and fled away from the scene. When some children reached the library in the evening, they saw the girl on the floor of the second storey of the library having breathing problem. On information, her brother and younger sister rushed to the library and took her to the hospital but she succumbed to en-route to the hospital. The family members performed her last rites in haste due to social stigma but on the perusal of villagers they lodged an FIR with the police under Hasan Bazaar police station on May 24, 2025 and on May 25, 2025, the police arrested one of the rapists and the entire incident came to light on May 26, 2025.

Mother of the deceased said that she was proud of her daughter. All the responsibilities of the family was on her shoulders. She was preparing for police and also had filled the form for nursing and so she used to go to the library to study. She went to the library at 12 O’clock. After practicing and studying in the library she always returned home by 5 O’clock in the evening but on May 22, 2025 she did not return home. Meanwhile, a boy of the village came and informed that her daughter was unwell and go and check her. At this, her son and younger daughter went to the library and rushed her to the hospital but she died on way to the hospital. She stated that she wanted justice and the government should hang whoever was involved in the incident.

The younger sister said that they were six sisters and one brother. The deceased was her elder sister who was like brother and used to do everything from cooking food to bathing the buffaloes and feeding them. She also used to plough the field by driving tractor. Father works as a mason. To fulfill father’s dreams and improve the condition of the house, she had joined an academy where preparation is done for police and army. She further said that on May 22, 2025, as usual, after finishing all the household chorus, she went to the ground to practice and then her tuitions. She had asked her to bring something for her and she laughed and said it was okay. She was there, no one to worry about. She said that after getting information, she along with her brother went to the library where her sister was lying on the edge of the stairs of the second floor unconscious. Her clothes were torn. Half of her clothes were wet and she said that something bad had happened to her. They asked for help from the people present there but no one came forward and so her brother picked her up in his lap and rushed to the hospital where she died. She further said that she demanded the government and the district administration to hang the accused.

Retired Sub-Inspectoor Lalan Singh of the village said that the girl was very sociable and her behaviour was good with everyone. The people of the village had a lot of expectations from her. He further said that she used to bring 50kg grain sacks from the field on her shoulders like a boy and such an incident took place against her was a slur on the society. The district administration should investigate the matter thoroughly and arrest the accused.

Trainer of the deceased Kanhaiya said that the girl was promising of the batch and she had the passion to serve the country by joining the Bihar police, Army. She was faster than the boys and was the best in every field.

SDPO, Piro Krishna Kumar Singh said that he got information that a young girl had died under mysterious circumstances. The family member told the police that they had cremated the girl and also said that a wrong thing had happened to their daughter. An FIR was lodged and the police arrested one of the accused on the basis of CCTV footage from the library and sent him to jail after interrogation.
