2451 NEW ASSISTANT PROFESSORS FOR 211 COLLEGES

PATNA---------------------------Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary inaugurated the orientation program for 2,451 newly appointed assistant professors across 211 newly established degree colleges at Bapu Sabhagar on Sunday.

Addressing the event, the Chief Minister stated that teachers are not limited to merely imparting subject knowledge to students; they play a pivotal role in shaping their personalities, mindsets, and futures.

First State to Launch 211 Degree Colleges in a Single Day

He urged the assistant professors to work with complete commitment and dedication. The Chief Minister noted that Bihar has been a land of knowledge since ancient times.

Educational traditions like those of Nalanda and Vikramshila showed the path of knowledge to the entire world. Now, there is a need to carry this glorious tradition forward by integrating modern technology, quality education, and superior academic facilities.

He highlighted that Bihar has become the first state in the country to launch 211 degree colleges in a single day. The state's education system and academic infrastructure will be further expanded in the future.

Plans to Send 100 Professors to Prestigious Institutions, Including Oxford

The Chief Minister also emphasized enhancing the capabilities of teachers to improve the quality of education. He announced an initiative to identify 100 professors and send them to prestigious global institutions, including Oxford, for training.

Additionally, opportunities will be provided for teachers from Bihar to interact and share experiences with educators and experts from top global educational institutions.

Government Allocating 21 Percent of Education Budget

The Chief Minister stated that the Bihar government accords the highest priority to education, with 21 percent of the state's total budget being spent on the education sector.

The government's goal is not merely to increase the number of educational institutions but to develop an education system that is modern, high-quality, and beneficial for the students' future. **Preparation for Competitive Exams in 700 Model Schools**

The Chief Minister also highlighted the efforts being made in the school education sector. He stated that 700 'Saraswati Vidya Niketan' model schools are being developed across the state. Efforts are underway to provide students in these schools—alongside a superior academic environment—with facilities such as coaching, live classes, and 24-hour online tutoring to help them prepare for competitive examinations like NEET and JEE.

He urged the newly appointed assistant professors to ensure that students attend college regularly and participate actively in classes.

The Chief Minister remarked that merely increasing the number of colleges is not enough; regular student attendance, interaction with teachers, and the utilization of available academic resources are what will truly fulfill the objective behind establishing higher education institutions.

Samrat Chaudhary stated that there is no lack of talent among the youth of Bihar. What is needed is to provide them with quality education, modern resources, and proper guidance. The newly appointed assistant professors can play a pivotal role in this regard.

He expressed confidence that the contribution of the new assistant professors would strengthen Bihar's higher education system and give a new direction to the future of the state's youth.

Higher Education Minister Sanjay Singh 'Tiger' and the Governor's Additional Chief Secretary, Deepak Kumar Singh, also addressed the event.

Also present on the occasion were Rahul Singh (Additional Secretary, Government of India), Sanjay Kumar Singh (Secretary to the Chief Minister), Prof. P.K. Vajpayee (Vice-Chancellor, Jay Prakash Narayan University), and Ras Bihari Singh (former Vice-Chancellor, Patna University), along with other professors and senior officials.
