BHABHUA--------------------------In a case involving the rape of a teenage girl, the Kaimur District POCSO Court has sentenced the convict to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹51,000.

The verdict was delivered on October 16, 2026, by the court of the Special Judge (also serving as ADJ-6), Bhabhua, Pramod Kumar Pandey, as part of a speedy trial under the POCSO Act.

The incident took place in a village under the jurisdiction of the Bhabhua police station. The primary accused, Shahrukh Khan (son of Salim Khan), was found guilty of raping a 14-year-old girl. The court convicted him under Sections 376(1), 341, and 448 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as Section 4 of the POCSO Act, sentencing him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹51,000. The judgment also includes a provision for additional imprisonment in the event of non-payment of the fine.

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on October 8, 2023, at approximately 4:00 PM. When the girl’s mother returned home after tethering her goats, she found the door locked from the inside. Hearing her daughter’s screams, she managed to open the door. It is alleged that Shahrukh Khan was raping the teenager inside the house. The accused also attempted to kill the woman by strangling her before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, a case (Case No. 47/2023) was registered at the local police station, and the police subsequently filed a charge sheet in court. During the trial, the prosecution presented 11 witnesses, including the Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Based on documentary and oral evidence, the court found the main accused guilty. Meanwhile, the other two accused in the case, Firoji Devi and Rozi Khatoon, were acquitted, with the court granting them the benefit of the doubt.

Pashubhushan Pandey, the Special Public Prosecutor for POCSO Act cases in Kaimur district, stated that this court verdict has brought justice to the victim and her family.
