POLICE ARRESTED FIVE WITH EQUIOPMENTS USED IN BREWING LIQUOR

BHABHUA-------------------------In a major operation conducted under the anti-liquor campaign in the Bhagwanpur police station area, the police arrested three women and two men involved in liquor production, along with two consumers, and sent them to judicial custody. The charges include liquor smuggling, illicit liquor manufacturing, and creating a public nuisance while intoxicated.

Providing details, Station House Officer (SHO) Chandrashekhar Sharma stated that a raid was conducted in Pahariya village based on a tip-off. During the raid, 3.7 liters of country-made liquor were seized from Sudarshan Bind (son of the late Dallu Bind). Meanwhile, *Java Mahua* (fermented Mahua base) and equipment used for making liquor were recovered from the homes of Dharmshila Devi, Chandravati Devi, and Sangita Devi. According to the police, they were all engaged in the illegal production of Mahua liquor. An FIR was registered against all of them; they were arrested and produced before the court.

In a separate operation, approximately 2.25 liters of country-made liquor were seized from the cowshed of Ramsurat Singh, a resident of Gobaraksh village. He was arrested on the spot, and legal action was initiated.

Additionally, Ajay Kumar (resident of Ramgarh) and Manjit Kumar (resident of Mohanpur) were arrested from different locations for being intoxicated. The SHO stated that Manjit Kumar is accused of stopping a truck while under the influence of alcohol and pelting it with stones, which shattered the truck's windshield. The involvement of three or four of his associates has also come to light; they are being identified, and further action is underway. Meanwhile, Ajay Kumar was arrested for assault and creating a ruckus while intoxicated. All the accused underwent medical examinations at the Bhagwanpur Primary Health Center before being sent to the Bhabhua court.
