BHABHUA-------------------------Creating and posting a video while on duty in uniform proved costly for a Home Guard jawan. Taking cognizance of a viral video, the Kaimur Police have initiated disciplinary action against the concerned personnel.

According to reports, a video went viral on social media on July 27, 2026, showing a Home Guard jawan recording a video while on duty in police uniform and sharing it on his social media handle. Following the emergence of the video, the police department conducted a thorough investigation into the matter.

The investigation revealed that the viral video was filmed within the premises of the Bhabhua Police Station. Subsequently, the Home Guard jawan featured in the video was identified as Vikas Kumar (Home Guard ID No. 152076). Vikas Kumar is currently posted at the Kudra Police Station.

Upon reviewing the case, police officials determined that recording and sharing such a video on social media while on duty and in uniform constitutes a violation of departmental discipline, the code of conduct, and established guidelines. Furthermore, such activities undermine the dignity and public image of the police force.

Based on these findings, disciplinary action has been taken against the Home Guard jawan. The police department has clarified that adhering to prescribed rules regarding uniforms and duty is the responsibility of every police officer and Home Guard personnel, and that such acts of indiscipline will not be tolerated at any level in the future.

The department has instructed all personnel to use social media in accordance with departmental regulations and to refrain from any activities while on duty that could adversely affect the police force's reputation and discipline.

This action sends a clear message within the police department that a strict stance will be taken against those who misuse their uniform and duty to gain popularity on social media, and that severe action will follow any violation of the rules.
