BHABHUA-------------------------In the Chainpur police station area, the police have arrested and sent to jail one individual involved in a firing incident that occurred following a dispute during the Durga Puja idol immersion. The police also seized a Pulsar motorcycle—which lacked a number plate—from the accused.

According to reports, during the recent Durga Puja celebrations, some youths in the village were brandishing sticks and spears. During this, Vipin Kumar, son of Uma Singh—a resident of Dulara village—began brandishing a spear along with his associates. Ashok Kumar, son of Bhim Singh (also from the same village), objected to this, leading to a dispute between the two groups.

It is alleged that, angered by this, Vipin Kumar—accompanied by two unidentified associates—arrived at Ashok Kumar’s house, where they began using abusive language and pounding on the door. When the door was not opened, the accused allegedly fired several rounds. Ashok Kumar managed to save his life by retreating further into the house and securing the door.

Following the incident, the victim, Ashok Kumar, filed a formal complaint at the Chainpur police station. Acting on the complaint, the Chainpur police arrested the primary accused, Vipin Kumar (son of Uma Singh, from Dulara village, Chainpur, Kaimur), and remanded him to judicial custody. It has also been noted that the arrested individual has a prior criminal record, which includes involvement in the murder of a taxi driver.

The police have also seized a Pulsar motorcycle, which lacked a number plate and was linked to the incident. Further legal proceedings are underway.
