KAIMUR------------------------In a brazen incident during morning darshan, two women devotees had their gold chains snatched at the famous Durga Mandir located in the local market area.

The first incident occurred around 6:20 a.m. when Asha Devi, a resident of Sisauda, was offering prayers. An unidentified woman stole her 13-gram gold chain. About an hour later, around 7:30 a.m., Dharma Devi was targeted in a similar manner and lost her 19-gram gold chain. Taking advantage of the crowd, the suspects fled the scene.

Temple committee president Kashinath Gupta confirmed the incidents and expressed concern over inadequate security arrangements during the festive period. He noted that police usually deploy women security guards every year, but this time the arrangements were lacking.

The victims have lodged complaints at Ramgarh police station and demanded legal action along with the deployment of women security personnel at the temple. Station House Officer Sumit Kumar is investigating the case.
