It is alleged that the gang would trap individuals under the guise of investment opportunities using fake trading apps, subsequently obtaining their OTPs to conduct unauthorized transactions from their bank accounts. The suspect’s name emerged during an investigation into a fraudulent transaction of ₹4 lakh that was traced to a bank account in Buxar. Police state that account holders were kept at a resort in Ara for five days, during which approximately ₹1.10 crore was siphoned off through their accounts.
In connection with this case, the Buxar police had previously arrested the joint account holders: Mohammad Shami Ali, Deepu Kumar, and Dharmendra Kumar. During interrogation, they reportedly revealed that Shailesh Mishra had obtained their bank accounts by promising to start a land-trading business, offering them a two-percent commission on the transactions.

Additionally, authorities are searching for Hardik Doshi, the alleged administrator of a WhatsApp group used in the scheme.
