SASARAM-----------------------The PPCL factory, established in 1965—once an industrial landmark for the region and a source of livelihood for thousands of workers—has now completely turned into ruins.

The smoke that once billowed from the factory’s chimneys was seen as a symbol of progress; today, however, crumbling walls, rusted machinery, and a desolate complex tell a story of utter neglect.

According to local residents, since the factory’s closure, there has been neither a plan for its restoration nor any concrete initiative to revive it.

The closure of the factory left thousands of families unemployed and extinguished the industrial vibrancy of the PPCL site. Today, the youth are forced to migrate in search of employment. Once considered a vital industrial heartbeat of Bihar, the facility saw its machinery sold off as scrap due to the government's indifferent attitude. The factory was situated next to a mountain of sulfur, which allowed for the production of fertilizers in significant quantities.

Locals have urged the government and the administration to preserve this historic landmark and redevelop it as an industrial site, in hopes of restoring employment and development to the region.
