ARA-------------------------Devotees in Badhara block of Bhojpur district, Bihar, are showing great enthusiasm for Durga Puja celebrations. Attractive pandals have been set up from Lakshmipur village to Saraiya market, decorated with colourful lights that illuminate the area every evening.
The special attraction this year is a moving (chalant) idol of Goddess Durga at the Saraiya vegetable market pandal. Using springs and remote control, the idol will depict Goddess Durga slaying the demon Mahishasura. A sound system has been brought from Ballia to enhance the light-and-sound show, allowing devotees to witness the battle scene between the Goddess and Mahishasura.

At the Gudi Mod puja pandal, a special idol of Goddess Durga has been installed showing her in the act of killing Mahishasura. On Saptami, young girls performed a Garba/Dandiya dance when the idol was unveiled, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Near Saraiya High School, the pandal features Goddess Durga seated on the asana of Panchmukhi Bajrangbali. This committee changes the theme of the idol every year, and people are eagerly awaiting this year’s unique presentation.
In Lakshmipur village of Badhara block, a 10-foot Shivling has become a major attraction. Here, Goddess Durga will appear mounted on a lion, offering darshan to devotees.
The High School Pandal Committee has also prepared and released a short film for the occasion. Committee members themselves acted in the film, adding a local creative touch to the celebrations.

With grand decorations, impressive idols, cultural programmes, and community participation, a vibrant festive atmosphere has gripped the entire Badhara area during Durga Puja.
