ARA-----------------------------The Sikrahata police in Bhojpur district have solved a high-profile theft case, leading to the arrest of a woman. Acting on information provided by the accused, the police recovered 35 grams of gold jewelry and 350 grams of silver ornaments that had been stolen. The arrested woman has been identified as Baby Devi, wife of Santosh Sah and a resident of Kurmuri village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sikrahata police station. In this regard, Bhojpur Superintendent of Police Awadhesh Dixit issued a press release detailing the action taken. According to the police, on the night of October 21, a woman entered the home of Ranju Kunwar—widow of the late Jai Yadav and a resident of Kurmuri village—and attempted to flee after stealing gold and silver jewelry belonging to her two daughters.

A villager spotted her in the act. Following an alarm, local residents gathered and questioned the woman, though she denied the theft. Subsequently, the victim, Ranju Kunwar, filed a named First Information Report (FIR) against one Baby Devi at the Sikrahata police station.

Acting swiftly upon the registration of the FIR, the police arrested Baby Devi. During interrogation, based on information provided by her, the stolen gold and silver jewelry were recovered from her residence.

It is worth noting that, frustrated by the delay in police action, villagers had staged a protest on Thursday by blocking a road near Kurmuri village for approximately four hours. The police later reassured the public by solving the case and making an arrest.
