SASARAM----------------------------The family of the late Assam Rifles soldier, Ramprakash Ram, continues to face difficulties following the tragic death of him and his daughter, Saloni Kumari. The accident occurred when their motorcycle lost control and fell into a canal while they were traveling to Gupta Dham. It is reported that the soldier's surviving daughter, Shivani Kumari, is unable to receive government benefits from the Assam Rifles headquarters due to a spelling discrepancy between the documents submitted to the headquarters and her school records. While the local administration and the district court have clarified—based on documentation and an affidavit—that Shivani Kumari is indeed the soldier's daughter and that the spelling variations (recorded as 'Siwani Kumari' at the headquarters versus 'Shiwani Kumari' in educational documents) were merely clerical errors, it remains to be seen what decision the Assam Rifles headquarters will reach regarding support for her further education.
