ARA-------------------------The Bhojpur District Congress Committee observed the birth anniversary of Dr. Shri Krishna Singh, Bihar’s first Chief Minister and freedom fighter popularly known as Bihar Kesari, with floral tributes and a commemorative programme at Shaheed Bhawan, the district Congress office in Ara, on Wednesday.

The event was held under the leadership of District Congress President Dr. Shridhar Tiwari. The programme began with garlanding of Dr. Singh’s portrait. Presiding over the meeting, Dr. Tiwari paid rich tributes to the leader and described him as the architect of modern Bihar. He recalled that Dr. Shri Krishna Singh, born on October 21, 1887, dedicated his entire life to the development of Bihar and the service of the nation.

Dr. Tiwari highlighted major initiatives taken during Dr. Singh’s tenure, including the Barauni Oil Refinery, Sindri Fertilizer Factory, Bokaro Steel Plant and the Damodar Valley Project. He also referred to the abolition of the zamindari system as one of the landmark steps of that period. “Taking his work and vision to the people is the true tribute,” Dr. Tiwari said. He described Dr. Singh as a great freedom fighter, an able administrator and a true Congressman, and stressed that Bihar needs to follow the path of development shown by him. The Congress party, he added, would continue efforts to take Shri Babu’s ideas to the masses.

District Congress leaders and workers present on the occasion remembered Dr. Singh’s contributions to the freedom struggle, the reconstruction of Bihar after Independence, and his focus on education, industrialisation, social justice and public welfare. Speakers described his life as a symbol of struggle, sacrifice and service, and pledged to work for realising the Bihar of his dreams.

Among those present were Media In-charge Virendra Mishra, Rashid Imam Mintu, Chitranjan Munna, Manoj Kumar Anjani, Youth District President Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, City President Shakti Singh Manan, Razi Ahmad, Pramod Rai, Sampat Singh and Omprakash Singh, along with other senior leaders, workers and distinguished citizens.
