ARA--------------------------Panic gripped the Karnamepur police station area of ​​the district on Sunday morning when a young man was shot in broad daylight. This incident has created an atmosphere of terror throughout the entire locality. The crime, which took place near Ojhwaliya Turn on the Karnamepur-Ishwarpura village road, involved a brother-in-law shooting his sister's husband amidst a family dispute.

According to reports, around 9:00 AM on Sunday, Sonu Thakur—a resident of Nauranga village—was traveling toward Karnamepur in his pickup truck. Sonu Thakur, the son of retired Indian Army veteran Devkrishna Thakur, was intercepted en route by an individual lying in ambush. According to eyewitnesses, the assailant was none other than Sadhu Thakur—the brother-in-law of the injured youth's elder brother. Amidst the tension stemming from an ongoing family feud, the brother-in-law suddenly opened fire on Sonu Thakur. The bullet struck Sonu directly in the arm, leaving him critically injured and causing him to collapse at the scene, bleeding profusely.

The sound of the gunshot triggered immediate chaos in the surrounding area. People began running in all directions to save their lives, though a large crowd of villagers soon gathered at the crime scene. Demonstrating promptness, local residents immediately alerted the Karnamepur police station about the incident. Upon receiving the information, a police team rushed to the spot and transported the injured Sonu Thakur to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. He is currently undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.

The incident has become a subject of widespread discussion, with reports confirming that the accused and the victim share a brother-in-law relationship. The accused, Sadhu Thakur, is identified as the brother-in-law of the injured Sonu Thakur's elder brother; it is reported that a mutual dispute had been brewing between the two families for a considerable period. However, on Sunday morning, this dispute escalated to such an extent that it took a violent turn. Currently, the Karnamepur police are conducting a serious and thorough investigation into the entire matter. The police state that the accused has been identified, and raids are being conducted at potential hideouts to effect his arrest.
