The Home Guard and his companions, who were heavily intoxicated and traveling in a Scorpio, created a ruckus on the pontoon bridge. The incident occurred on Thursday night on the pontoon bridge over the Ganges River within the limits of the Sinha police station. Following the incident, and acting on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, the Sinha police arrested three accused individuals, including the Home Guard.

ARA----------------------------A case has come to light in Bhojpur where a Home Guard, along with his associates, assaulted passersby and extorted money from them. The Home Guard and his companions, who were heavily intoxicated and traveling in a Scorpio, created a ruckus on the pontoon bridge. The incident occurred on Thursday night on the pontoon bridge over the Ganges River within the limits of the Sinha police station. Following the incident, and acting on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, the Sinha police arrested three accused individuals, including the Home Guard.
The arrested individuals include Rohit Kumar (son of Ramji Rajak from Akhgaon village, Sandesh police station area), Sonu Kumar (son of Satyanarayan Yadav from Anaith Milki, Nawada police station area), and Abhishek Kumar Singh (son of the late Vindeshwari Prasad from Anaith Ekta Nagar). Among them, Rohit Kumar is a Home Guard posted at the Ara Traffic Police Station.
The Scorpio vehicle used in the incident has also been seized; however, two other accused managed to escape. An FIR has been registered against all of them for assaulting passersby and extortion.
Superintendent of Police Raj issued a press statement confirming the arrests. According to the police, a large number of people had visited the banks of the Ganges and the pontoon bridge in the Sinha police station area on Thursday due to a local fair. Some youths from Udbhayanpur village, under the Krishnagarh police station area, had also gone to visit the pontoon bridge.
In the evening, Home Guard Rohit Kumar was returning to Ara from UP in a Scorpio with his associates. All of them were heavily intoxicated. Upon reaching the pontoon bridge, the Home Guard and his companions began creating a disturbance and verbally abusing passersby. In the ensuing altercation, a Home Guard jawan and his associates clashed with youths from Udaybhanpur village, assaulting them and snatching five thousand rupees from them. Upon receiving information from police personnel deployed at the fair, a team led by Station House Officer (SHO) Raju Kumar arrived at the scene; acting on the SP's instructions, they arrested three accused individuals, including the Home Guard jawan. A named FIR has been registered in this matter based on the statement of Raj Kumar, a resident of Udaybhanpur village.
