STORM AND RAIN ALERT FOR ALL BIHAR

2-MAY-ENG 5

RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

PATNA---------------------------The weather in Bihar has been consistently erratic over the past few days. While some districts are witnessing merely the movement of clouds, others are recording moderate rainfall, and some are experiencing heavy downpours. Amidst this, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for all districts across the state today. Along with rain, winds gusting at speeds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour and lightning strikes are forecast for all districts today.

In light of the deteriorating weather conditions, the Meteorological Department has appealed to the public to exercise caution. Farmers, in particular, have been urged to refrain from working in the fields during this period. Since early this morning, skies have remained overcast in several districts, including Patna and Nalanda. Consequently, residents have found relief from the heat; in many households, people have even had to switch off their air coolers and air conditioners.

According to the Meteorological Department, no significant changes in weather patterns are expected until May 4th. Up until May 4th, cool winds blowing at speeds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour may persist across the districts of Bihar. Following May 4th, however, temperatures are expected to rise once again. As for Patna, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the skies will remain overcast for the next three days, with intermittent spells of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
