PATNA-------------------------Late Thursday evening, a spice merchant was brutally murdered in Musallahpur Haat, located within the jurisdiction of the Sultanganj police station in Bihar's capital. Acting swiftly to unravel this sinister plot, a joint team comprising the Special Task Force (STF) and the Patna Police has made a breakthrough. The police have arrested the main shooter responsible for carrying out the crime; his interrogation has yielded several shocking revelations.
According to information obtained from police sources, the shooters were lured with a substantial sum of money to execute this gruesome murder, of which ₹10,000 was paid as an advance. The arrested main shooter is reported to be merely between 16 and 18 years of age. The involvement of boys of such a young age in a crime of this nature is deeply concerning. To piece together the various threads of this entire case, the Patna Police are planning to hold a press conference shortly to share detailed information with the media.
The perpetrators employed an extremely cunning and cinematic method to carry out this murder. In fact, a 'mock drill' designed to simulate wartime scenarios was organized in Patna on Thursday evening. As per the plan, precisely at 7:00 PM, as the sirens blared, the power supply to the entire area was cut off, plunging the surroundings into a complete 'blackout' (darkness).
Pintu Kumar, a 25-year-old spice merchant, was seated at his tea and spice shop at that time. All the merchants were aware that the power outage was scheduled to last for only 15 minutes; consequently, no one bothered to switch on their generators or lights. The criminals were lying in wait for this very moment. Exactly two minutes after the blackout began—at 7:02 PM—two criminals took advantage of the darkness to reach Pintu's shop. The moment he took his seat, the assailants pressed a silenced pistol against Pintu's head and fired. Due to the silencer attached to the weapon, the gunshot made absolutely no sound. Pintu's father, Nepali Saw—who was present at the scene—recounted that a sudden power outage had plunged the entire area into pitch darkness. No one had even turned on their mobile phone flashlights. The sound of the gunshot was so faint that no one nearby caught even the slightest inkling of what had occurred.
It was only when Pintu screamed in agony that people in the vicinity rushed toward his seat. In a frantic rush, the blood-soaked Pintu was transported to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) for treatment; however, his injury was so severe that he succumbed to it on the way. After committing the crime, both accused individuals fled on foot, taking advantage of the darkness to make their escape. Since this incident, the deceased's family members have been inconsolable in their grief and have demanded justice from the police, as well as the swift arrest of the remaining culprits.
