SECTION 163 IMPOSED WITHIN 200 METER RADIUS OF EXAM CENTRES

14-MARCH-ENG 11

RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

BUXAR-------------------------The district administration has undertaken extensive preparations to ensure the fair, peaceful, and malpractice-free conduct of the Madhyama Examination 2026. According to information received from the Sub-Divisional Officer of Buxar, Avinash Kumar, and in light of the joint order (Memo No. 10-0899/Go) dated March 9 issued by District Magistrate Sahila and Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya, Magistrates and police officials have been deputed to the examination centers.

The Madhyama Examination is scheduled to commence on March 16 and will be conducted in two shifts daily until March 19. For this purpose, three examination centers have been designated within the district: Higher Secondary School Ahirauli (Buxar), Higher Secondary School Jaso (Buxar), and +2 Upgraded High School Kritpura (Buxar).

Anticipating potential overcrowding and disorder at the centers during the examination, the administration has taken strict precautionary measures. Exercising the powers vested in his office, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Buxar Sadar has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (Indian Civil Security Code) within a 200-meter radius of all these examination centers. This order will remain in force from March 16 to March 19.

As per the issued order, the assembly of five or more persons at a single location within 200 meters of the examination centers is strictly prohibited. This restriction applies to all individuals, with the exception of the deputed Magistrates, police officials, and relevant examination personnel. Parents of examinees and media personnel have also been brought under the purview of this restriction to prevent any form of crowding or disorder during the examinations.

Furthermore, carrying lethal weapons or firearms within the restricted zone is strictly prohibited for any individual. An exemption to this rule has been granted solely to the deployed police force. Additionally, any form of procession or demonstration within this area remains prohibited.

However, essential social events—such as religious ceremonies, funeral processions, and weddings—have been exempted from these restrictions. To curb noise pollution in the vicinity of examination centers, the administration has also banned the use of loudspeakers and public address systems. Concurrently, smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited within the restricted zone.

To maintain law and order, the district administration has issued specific directives to the concerned police stations. The Station House Officers (SHOs) of Buxar Nagar, Industrial, and Mufassil police stations have been instructed to personally remain present at the examination centers—accompanied by their respective police forces—on the scheduled dates to assist in maintaining order. Additionally, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Buxar has been requested to ensure the deployment of an adequate number of police personnel, female officers, and police officials during the examination period, thereby ensuring that the examinations are conducted in a completely peaceful and impartial environment. The administration has stated that strict action will be taken against any instance of disorder or violation of these regulations.
