BUXAR---------------------------A dispute over a 1.5-bigha plot of land turned violent on Thursday in Chilbila village, under the Kukudha Panchayat within the Itarhi police station area. During paddy transplantation, Kukudha Panchayat Sarpanch Subhash Singh (55) was allegedly beaten to death with sticks and clubs, while his two sons sustained serious injuries. Tension gripped the area following the incident.
According to reports, a long-standing dispute existed between Sarpanch Subhash Singh and his extended family members (co-sharers) regarding the 1.5-bigha land in Chilbila village. On Thursday afternoon, Subhash Singh arrived at the field with a tractor to oversee paddy transplantation. It is alleged that individuals already present at the site attacked him with sticks and clubs. Upon learning of the attack on their father, his sons Akhilesh Singh (26) and Vintes Singh (23) rushed to the scene but also fell victim to the assault.
Family members allege that a group of 15 to 20 people, including Tej Bahadur Singh and Vinod Singh, carried out the murderous attack on the three men. With the help of locals, the critically injured father and sons were taken to Sadar Hospital, where Sarpanch Subhash Singh succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Both sons are currently undergoing treatment.
Upon receiving news of the incident, family members and villagers were outraged. They blocked the Buxar-Chausa main road in front of the Sadar Hospital's main gate and raised slogans against the administration. The protesters demanded the immediate removal of the Itarhi Station House Officer (SHO) and the Circle Officer, the swift arrest of all the accused, and justice for the victim's family.
The road blockade resulted in long queues of vehicles on the Buxar-Chausa main road. Police and administrative officials arrived at the scene upon receiving the information and attempted to pacify the crowd. At the time of writing this report, the blockade was ongoing, and the police were conducting raids to arrest the accused while investigating the matter.
