PUSHPA SINGH NOMINATED PRESIDENT OF THE AMC EMPLOYEES’ UNION

ARA---------------------------A meeting of the Ara Municipal Corporation Employees' Union was held on Tuesday at 12:30 PM, during which the new leadership of the organization was selected. In the meeting, *Pushpa Singh* was unanimously nominated as the President of the Union.

Various issues concerning the employees were discussed in detail during the meeting. The employees raised demands for the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, including the rectification and disbursement of pending salary arrears. Furthermore, demands were made to establish a new pay scale for contractual and outsourced staff, and to fix the daily wage rate at ₹783 per day.

The employees also put forward demands for the observance of government holidays—including Sundays—to ensure overtime compensation for work exceeding eight hours, and to guarantee full salary payment to any employee sustaining an injury during the course of duty.

Other office bearers were also selected during the meeting: Amarnath Prasad Srivastava was appointed Vice President, Rajesh Kumar as Secretary, Shatrughan Kumar as Treasurer, and Arun Kapoor as Office Secretary. Additionally, Lalita Devi, Poonam Devi, and Shyam Sundar Yadav were assigned responsibilities as support staff. It was also decided during the meeting that the employees' demands would be formally presented to the concerned department in the near future.
