POLICE ARRESTED COUPLE IN RAPE CASE, SENT TO JAIL

BHABHUA-------------------------A sensational case has emerged from the Ramgarh police station area of ​​the district, involving the alleged rape of a woman after she was made to consume an intoxicating substance, followed by the recording of a video and coercion to convert her religion. Acting swiftly on the victim's complaint, the police arrested the accused couple within just four hours. Mohania SDPO Gopal Krishna confirmed the details during a press conference held on Wednesday.

During the press conference at the Mohania Sub-divisional Office, the SDPO stated that a woman had submitted a written complaint at the Ramgarh police station on Tuesday, leveling serious allegations. According to the woman, on the evening of June 4 at around 6 PM, Ekram Ansari—a resident of Darwan village under the Ramgarh police station area—and his wife, Shahida Begum, invited her to their home. There, she was made to consume an intoxicating substance, causing her to lose consciousness... ..reached a state of unconsciousness.

It is alleged that taking advantage of her unconscious state, Ekram Ansari forced himself upon the woman against her will. Meanwhile, his wife, Shahida Begum, recorded a video of the entire incident on her mobile phone. The victim alleged that after the incident, the couple threatened her by showing the video, stating that if she did not convert her religion, the video would be made viral on social media.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Ramgarh police swung into action; recognizing the gravity of the matter, they took immediate steps and arrested the accused couple within four hours. The police have registered a case (Ramgarh Police Station Case No. 150/26) in this regard and initiated further legal proceedings.

SDPO Gopal Krishna stated that the arrested accused, Ekram Ansari, has a prior criminal record. FIRs have previously been registered against him for offenses including the molestation of women. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation, and further action is being taken based on the available evidence.

The incident has become a topic of discussion in the area. Police officials stated that every necessary step is being taken to ensure the woman's safety and justice, and no guilty party will be spared.
