NGO’S PAPER GAME IN MUNICIPAL BODIES RAISES QUESTIONS

ARA--------------------------A sanitation NGO that is rapidly expanding its footprint across the district's various municipal bodies has become a major topic of discussion. Questions are being raised regarding how it secured contracts, as well as its operational methods, experience, and overall systems. The organization is aggressively trying to establish itself in other municipal bodies within the district. Despite being a newcomer in terms of actual experience and resources, the way it is challenging established NGOs resembles a shrewd chess maneuver.

At the heart of this entire affair is the NGO led by Kumar Abhishek and its so-called "magical documents." Typically, NGOs are evaluated based on years of experience, technical capability, and on-ground resources. However, contrary to these norms, allegations suggest that this NGO lacks even basic resources, yet its dominance within the municipal bodies continues to grow.

Its modus operandi is being viewed as a clever game. On the ground, sanitation and other services continue to be managed by the municipal bodies themselves, just as before. Yet, in official files and reports, the entire credit and management responsibility are attributed to this NGO. The reach of this "operational model" now appears to be extending to the Bihiya Nagar Panchayat as well.
