ARA-------------------------A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Arrah, located in Bihar's Bhojpur district, where a young woman took her own life by consuming a poisonous substance after her lover refused to marry her. The incident occurred in Koilwar town, within the jurisdiction of the Koilwar police station. As the young woman's condition deteriorated, her family members rushed her to the Sadar Hospital for treatment, where she passed away during the course of her medical care. The incident has plunged the family into deep grief and turmoil.

The deceased has been identified as Anjali Kumari, a 19-year-old daughter of Sunil Chaudhary, a resident of Ward No. 9 in Koilwar town. It is reported that Anjali had been involved in a romantic relationship with a young man for the past year. Discussions regarding marriage were also underway between the two; however, the young man recently flatly refused to go through with the wedding. Distraught by this refusal, the young woman took this tragic step.

**Met at a Wedding Ceremony:** According to the deceased's sister, Gudiya Kumari, Anjali met the young man—a resident of Arwal district—during a wedding ceremony held at her maternal grandparents' home in Patna approximately one year ago. Following this meeting, the two began communicating, and their acquaintance gradually blossomed into a romantic relationship. They spoke frequently over the phone and often expressed their desire to marry each other.

Family members state that Anjali was deeply attached to the young man and was determined to marry him. However, in recent days, the young man's behavior had changed. It is alleged that he refused to marry her, a rejection that caused Anjali significant mental distress.

**Condition Deteriorates After Consuming Poison:** Reports indicate that Anjali, heartbroken by her lover's refusal, consumed a poisonous substance while at home.

Within a short time, her health began to deteriorate rapidly. Upon observing her critical condition, her family members immediately rushed her to the Arrah Sadar Hospital for medical treatment. Doctors began treatment in the hospital's emergency ward; however, her condition remained critical, and she passed away during the course of treatment.

The family has been plunged into chaos following the young woman's death; they are inconsolable with grief. Her mother and sisters are in a state of utter distress from incessant weeping. An atmosphere of mourning also prevails throughout the neighborhood in the wake of the incident. Locals suggest that had a dialogue taken place between the two families in a timely manner, this tragedy might perhaps have been averted.

The police are currently investigating the matter. Upon receiving information regarding the incident, the police took custody of the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The police have commenced a comprehensive investigation into the entire case. The inquiry is also exploring angles involving a romantic relationship and a subsequent refusal of marriage. Currently, the police are recording the statements of the family members and are proceeding with further legal action.
