PATNA-------------------------The Urban Development Department has taken a tough stand against illegal hoardings and parking in Patna. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has directed officials to remove all illegal hoardings within 24 hours, except for cases pending in the High Court, and to immediately stop illegal parking.

Strict Government Action, Major Campaign Against Illegal Hoardings and Parking: The state government has taken a tough stand against illegal hoardings and parking in Patna. Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development and Housing Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has clearly directed that all illegal hoardings in Patna, except those cases not stayed by the High Court, be removed within 24 hours. The Deputy Chief Minister clarified that any kind of "mafiagiri" will no longer be tolerated in the capital. He stated that illegal hoardings and parking are causing losses worth crores of rupees to the government treasury every year, which will no longer be tolerated. Displeased with the slow action, Vijay Sinha asked officials tough questions in the departmental review meeting, ordering daily reports. When informed that only 18 billboards had been removed in the past 15 days, he considered this a serious negligence. He made it clear that this campaign should not be a mere formality, but should yield concrete results. Officials have been instructed to submit daily progress reports. He also warned that no influential individual or group involved in illegal activities will be spared and strict legal action will be taken. Pending cases in the High Court have also been expedited. It has been reported that approximately 20 cases are pending in the High Court, under the guise of which illegal activities were continuing. The Deputy Chief Minister has directed the Advocate General to request an early hearing from the Court, so that legal hurdles can be removed and illegal encroachments from disputed areas can also be removed. The government's goal is to develop Patna into a well-organized and smart city, free from encroachment and disorder. The Deputy CM reiterated that there will no longer be any room for illegal extortion and encroachment on the roads. The Municipal Corporation has been put on alert, and the impact of the action is expected to be clearly visible in the coming days.
