HIGH ALERT AT ARA JUNCTION

RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA------------------------Security arrangements at Ara Junction have been stepped up following incidents of commotion and vandalism of trains by candidates at Patna's Patliputra Station on Sunday regarding the Prohibition Constable recruitment exam. The railway administration and the RPF are maintaining strict surveillance over the station premises, platforms, and incoming and outgoing trains.

RPF In-charge Deepak Kumar stated that extensive security measures have been put in place in anticipation of the large influx of candidates appearing for the recruitment exam. He mentioned that passengers arriving at the portico and Platform No. 1 are being directed to exit towards the west first; this measure aims to control the crowd and prevent any chaotic situation within the station premises.

It is worth noting that on Sunday morning, a large number of candidates staged a protest at Patliputra Station, alleging inadequate arrangements on the trains. During the protest, many students stepped onto the railway tracks, disrupting train operations. Reports of stone-pelting and vandalism of an 'exam special' train were also received from some locations.

Railway and administrative officials arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. The matter is currently being investigated, and an appeal has been made to passengers and candidates to maintain peace and restraint.
