PATNA--------------------------A sensational and heart-wrenching incident unfolded on Friday in the Lalbagh area of the region, plunging the entire locality into a state of terror. A young man barged into a home and launched a knife attack on a tenant couple; the husband succumbed to his injuries, while the wife remains critically wounded.

According to reports, Nawaz Alam and his wife were residing as tenants on the third floor of a building owned by a man named Salim. It is alleged that a young man suddenly forced his way into their home. Before anyone could react or defend themselves, he began a frenzied knife attack. The assault was executed with such speed and ferocity that neither the husband nor the wife had a chance to save themselves.

Nawaz Alam sustained severe injuries in the attack, while his wife was also left badly wounded. Screams and cries for help erupted from inside the house, alerting neighbors who rushed to the scene. With the assistance of the locals, both injured victims were immediately transported to PMCH (Patna Medical College and Hospital) for urgent medical treatment.

Nawaz Alam passed away while undergoing treatment at the hospital, whereas his wife's condition remains critical. A team of doctors is currently treating her, and she has been placed under constant medical observation.

Upon receiving news of the incident, the police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the entire area, and initiated an investigation. Preliminary inquiries have led to the identification of the accused youth, but he has been absconding since the incident occurred. The police are conducting continuous raids in an effort to apprehend him.

Speaking on the matter, Police Officer Rajesh Ranjan stated that every aspect of the incident is being investigated with the utmost seriousness. He noted that while the motive behind the attack remains unclear at this stage, the investigation is proceeding by taking into account all possible angles—including mutual enmity, personal disputes, or other potential causes.

The incident has created an atmosphere of fear and outrage within the locality. Residents are shaken by the violent crime and are raising questions regarding the state of security in the area. Locals argue that such incidents—occurring in broad daylight or within the confines of one's home—cast serious doubts upon the effectiveness of law and order in the region.
