SASARAM----------------------------Police have arrested four members of a cyber-fraud gang who were staying at the Aashirwad Hotel in the Kali-Sthan area of Sasaram. Addressing a press conference regarding the matter, Viplav Kumar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Sasaram-1, stated that interrogation of the arrested individuals revealed their modus operandi: they would lure people from neighboring districts with the promise of money to obtain their bank account details, which were then forwarded to the higher-ups in the gang for use in cyber fraud. In return, they received a commission of 2.5 percent of the total proceeds from the fraud. Technical analysis of the mobile phones recovered from them yielded details of four bank accounts and two corporate accounts; investigations linked these accounts to cases registered in Chennai and 17 other locations across various states. The arrested individuals include Aditya Raj from Bhabua; Aman Kumar from Karan village (under the Baghaila police station area in Rohtas); Aditya Kumar (alias Hemant) from Dhankadha (under Dhaudad police station); and Rajkumar (alias Shubham Kumar) from Salempur village (under Nokha police station). Police also recovered four mobile phones from the accused. This arrest is being hailed as a major achievement for the police and is seen as a significant success in curbing cyber fraud in the district.
