BHABHUA--------------------------Acting on a tip-off, Durgawati police carried out a major operation against cattle smuggling and recovered four animals from a Scorpio vehicle. However, upon spotting the police, the smugglers took advantage of the crowd and fled the scene. According to reports, information was received around 6:15 AM on July 7, 2026, that smugglers were transporting livestock in a four-wheeled vehicle from the direction of Uttar Pradesh towards Mohania. Acting on this information and under the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, a special team was constituted. The team included Durgawati Station House Officer (SHO) Girish Kumar, Sub-Inspector Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Sub-Inspector Yogendra Kumar, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Dhananjay Kumar.

Taking swift action, the team initiated a vehicle inspection drive on NH-19 at Mahmoodganj. During the operation, a grey Scorpio (registration number MH04CD0680) sped away towards the railway line. The police pursued and intercepted the vehicle, but the smugglers on board managed to escape by taking advantage of the crowd.

Upon searching the vehicle, four animals were found tied up in a cruel manner. The police safely recovered all the animals and seized the Scorpio, initiating further legal proceedings.
