BHABHUA------------------------In a major crackdown regarding illegal extortion at the transport inspection post near Mohania Toll Plaza, Kaimur Police arrested nine individuals—including four SAP (Special Auxiliary Police) personnel—red-handed. The arrested accused comprise four SAP personnel and five civilians. The police also recovered ₹57,760 in cash and nine mobile phones from the scene.

According to reports, Mohania Police received information on July 6, 2026, that SAP personnel deployed at the Mohania Toll Plaza were colluding with civilians to extort money from trucks. Following this tip-off, a special raid team was immediately formed under the Superintendent of Police's instructions.

The team conducted a raid near the Transport Department's vehicle inspection center, where SAP personnel were found stationed in two makeshift huts located along the lanes leading to and from Banaras. During the inspection, individuals were caught illegally extorting money from trucks at both locations, acting in collusion with certain civilians.

The accused could not provide satisfactory answers during police questioning. Meanwhile, truck drivers present at the scene stated that money was being forcibly extorted from them; however, no fine receipts were issued, nor were any challan machines available on-site.

During the raid, the police recovered a total of ₹57,760 in cash and nine mobile phones from both locations. All nine accused involved in the matter have been arrested. The police stated that further legal action regarding the case is underway.
