BUXAR-----------------------------The Patna-Buxar National Highway-922 has once again fallen victim to high speeds and negligence. On Thursday morning, near Barka Dhakaich Chowk, an unidentified vehicle violently struck 65-year-old Ramashray Dubey as he was crossing the road. The collision was so severe that he sustained critical injuries and collapsed right on the road, while the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

The Patna-Buxar National Highway-922 has once again fallen victim to high speeds and negligence. On Thursday morning, near Barka Dhakaich Chowk, an unidentified vehicle violently struck 65-year-old Ramashray Dubey as he was crossing the road. The collision was so severe that he sustained critical injuries and collapsed right on the road, while the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Following the incident, panic ensued among the people present in the vicinity. With the help of locals, the injured elderly man was immediately rushed to a private hospital; although doctors made every effort to save him, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

This incident has once again exposed the unchecked speeding and inadequate safety measures prevailing on NH-922. The deceased has been identified as Ramashray Dubey, a resident of Barka Dhakaich village. Upon receiving information about the accident, the Krishna Brahma police reached the spot, took custody of the body, and sent it to the District Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Station House Officer (SHO) Ravi Kumar stated that while an elderly man has died in the road accident, no written complaint has been received from the family members so far. Further legal action will be initiated once a formal application is received.

Meanwhile, there is palpable outrage among the locals regarding the incident. They argue that accidents occur frequently at this busy intersection; yet, despite this, neither are concrete measures being implemented to control speeding, nor is the traffic management system being strengthened. People have demanded that the administration take immediate and effective measures to curb accidents, so that no other family has to endure such pain in the future
