DLSA PROVIDED LEGAL AID TO ACID ATTACK VICTIMS

BHABHUA---------------------------Under the guidance of Lalan Kumar Rajak, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, a legal awareness program regarding acid attacks was organized for villagers in the Dumri Katsari block on Sunday. The event was conducted by Panel Advocate Ratnesh Kumar Pandey and 'Adhikar Mitra' (Rights Friend) Rajneesh Kumar.

The primary objective of this program was to inform acid attack victims about their rights, the availability of free legal aid, and the compensation and rehabilitation services accessible to them through the District Legal Services Authority.

During the event, the Panel Advocate elaborated on the provisions of the scheme, highlighting the minimum compensation of ₹3 lakh available to victims and the assurance of an immediate financial assistance of ₹1 lakh for medical treatment, to be disbursed within 15 days.

He stated that in cases of acid attacks, victims are provided with high-quality, free legal representation to ensure they receive speedy justice and rehabilitation. Meanwhile, 'Adhikar Mitra' Rajneesh Kumar appealed to the local residents to identify such victims and assist them in contacting the Legal Services Authority at 7070092435. Mohammad Waris, Mukesh Kumar, Chandradev Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Abhijit Kumar, and other villagers were present on the occasion.
