The agricultural seminar organized at the Chausa block agricultural office complex on the occasion of Good Governance Day proved to be not just a formal program for farmers, but a platform for shaping the future of farming. In this seminar, held on the theme of "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan and Jai Anusandhan" (Hail the Soldier, Hail the Farmer, Hail Science and Hail Research), there was an in-depth discussion on the need to move beyond traditional farming and connect it with science and research. The program was presided over by Block Agriculture Officer Rakesh Kumar. He said that in the era of changing weather patterns, declining groundwater levels, and rising costs, it has become essential to combine farming with scientific understanding along with experience.
The program was conducted by Pramod Kumar Singh, who facilitated the interaction between farmers and officials.Speakers at the seminar clarified that modern farming is not just a means of increasing production, but a powerful way to double farmers' income. By adopting improved seeds, balanced fertilizer use, pest and disease management, crop rotation, and technical advice, farming can be made more profitable at a lower cost. Emphasis was placed on adopting research-based agriculture, which reduces risk and ensures stable yields.
Farmers were given practical information regarding the Rabi season. Agricultural officers provided detailed guidance on topics such as timely sowing, selection of fertilizers based on soil testing, water conservation, irrigation management, and crop diversification. The officers explained that scientific farming not only increases production but also maintains soil fertility for a longer period. During the program, farmers also openly shared their problems. Doubts related to seeds, fertilizers, irrigation, and the market were addressed on the spot by the agricultural officers. This further strengthened the trust and connection between the farmers and the department. The seminar was attended by BTM Amrita Kumari, ATM Jitendra Kumar Maurya, and other officials from the agriculture department. They informed the farmers about government schemes, subsidies, training programs, and technical support, and urged them to stay in regular contact with the department. Finally, the farmers and officials unanimously resolved to make farming modern, sustainable, and prosperous with the help of science, research, and government schemes. A large number of farmer advisors and local farmers were present at the event.
