POLICE ARRESTED TWO SMUGGLERS

BUXAR--------------------------Acting on information regarding suspicious activity and the brandishing of weapons at Dharhara Bazaar in the Krishnabrahm police station area, villagers Two youths were apprehended through vigilant action and handed over to the police. The police arrested both individuals, registered a case under the Arms Act and other relevant sections, and sent them to jail in judicial custody. Preliminary investigations suggest a possible link between the duo and a gang that targets smugglers bringing liquor from Uttar Pradesh into Bihar.

According to reports, the activities of two youths at a tea stall in Dharhara Bazaar appeared suspicious to locals late Sunday evening. One of the youths had concocted a false story about his own kidnapping. Villagers became alert upon realizing the pair might be armed and immediately informed the Krishnabrahm police station. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, detained the youths, and conducted a search.

During the search, a country-made pistol was recovered, leading to the arrest of both individuals. The arrested accused have been identified as Chandan Yadav, a resident of Demalpur (under the Karnamepur police station area of ​​Bhojpur district), and Lavkush Tiwari, a resident of Chhotki Nainijor (under the Nainijor police station area). The police also seized two motorcycles and four mobile phones from their possession.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that the accused used to conduct reconnaissance near the Nainijor embankment to target smugglers entering Bihar from Uttar Pradesh with liquor. However, the police are currently verifying this information and investigating the criminal history of both individuals.

Station House Officer (In-charge) Sunil Kumar Gond stated that the recovered country-made pistol was seized, and an FIR was registered against both accused under the Arms Act and other relevant sections. Following interrogation, both were sent to judicial custody on Monday. A thorough investigation into the matter is underway.
