BUXAR--------------------------On the occasion of National Doctors' Day, a mega blood donation camp and awareness campaign were organized on Wednesday at Dr. Dhanpati Roy Hospital in Sarenja, in collaboration with Maa Tapeshwari Devi Blood Center and 'Blood Buxar'. The camp was jointly inaugurated by the hospital's directors, Dr. Shikha Rai and Dr. Avni Rai. Naseem Nayak and Adil Khan from 'Blood Buxar' were also present during the event.
A total of 26 individuals—including four female donors: Gudiya Devi, Seema Devi, Kajal Kumari, and Sangeeta Kumari—set an example of humanity by voluntarily donating blood. Among the donors were Sunil Pandey, Ashutosh Rai, Shubham Kumar, Ashish Pandey, Jitendra Kumar, Md. Blood donors including Bismillah Khan, Sandeep Rai, Ankur Kumar Maurya, Neeraj Singh, Abhishek Rai, Kush Kumar, Gharbharan Pandey, and Chandan Kumar participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shikha Rai stated that blood donation stimulates the production of new blood cells, maintains the body's iron balance, and helps reduce the risk of various ailments, including heart disease. She explained that essential tests—such as checks for blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and hemoglobin levels, as well as screenings for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and syphilis—are conducted free of charge before and after the donation. This also provides individuals with accurate information regarding their health. She urged the youth to save lives by donating blood regularly.
Dr. Avni Rai remarked that a single unit of blood could prove to be a lifesaver for someone in need. Under the "Shubharambh – New Thinking, New Tradition" campaign, she appealed for the initiation of a tradition of donating blood on occasions such as weddings, birthdays, and other auspicious events to help alleviate blood shortages in blood banks.
Naseem Nayak from 'Blood Buxar' noted that this was the first blood donation camp of July. Encouraging interested young people to register as donors, he mentioned that the organization raises public awareness by conducting monthly blood donation camps. He stated that this camp was organized in support of the Government of India's "Nationwide Mega Blood Donation Drive," which carries the message: "One Drop of Humanity: Give Blood, Save Lives."
Santosh Chaubey of Maa Tapeshwari Devi Blood Center expressed gratitude to the hospital management, all the blood donors, and the 'Blood Buxar' team. At the camp, all donors were honored with mementos from Dr. Dhanpati Roy Hospital and certificates of appreciation from Maa Tapeshwari Devi Blood Center. The hospital staff and the team from Maa Tapeshwari Devi Blood Center played a pivotal role in making the camp a success.
