ARA-------------------------The police of the Arrah Nagar Police Station have successfully busted a major criminal gang involved in bike theft and mobile snatching. Six cunning members of the gang have been arrested. Three stolen bikes and three mobile phones have also been recovered. The arrested individuals include Sumit Soni, Pankaj Kumar, Guddu Kumar, Nikhil Kumar, Vikas Kumar, and Karan Kumar. All of them are residents of Ahirpurwa, located within the jurisdiction of the Nagar Police Station. However, one of their accomplices currently remains at large and has evaded police capture. He, too, is a resident of the same locality—Anurag Kumar, alias Anshu Kumar. The police are currently conducting raids to effect his arrest. The entire gang was apprehended by the police while attempting to snatch a mobile phone from a woman.

This information was disclosed on Tuesday during a press conference held at the Nagar Police Station by Sadar SDPO Van Raj Kumar Sah. He stated that on Sunday, March 29, near Dhanupra Main Road within the jurisdiction of the Nawada Police Station, two miscreants riding an unregistered motorcycle snatched a mobile phone from Khushboo Devi—the wife of Sunil Kumar, a resident of Shri Tola—and attempted to flee. However, Sub-Inspector Rajeshwar Prasad Yadav and personnel from the 'Cross Mobile' patrol unit, who were out on duty, intercepted and apprehended Sumit Soni and Pankaj Kumar as they were attempting to escape after the snatching. Interrogation of the duo revealed that they, along with five other accomplices, engage in motorcycle theft and mobile phone snatching. They have previously perpetrated numerous such crimes.

Subsequently, a team led by Station House Officer (SHO) Devraj Rai was constituted to arrest the remaining gang members and to recover the stolen motorcycles and mobile phones. Acting on the information provided by the two arrested individuals, the team proceeded to arrest Guddu Kumar, Nikhil Kumar, Vikas Kumar, and Karan Kumar in succession. Based on their leads, three stolen motorcycles were recovered from the Koilwar, Nagar, and Nawada police station areas. Additionally, three mobile phones involved in snatching incidents were also recovered.

The SDPO stated that information regarding other incidents of theft and snatching is currently being elicited from all the arrested individuals. Their criminal records are also being thoroughly scrutinized using the CCTNS system and other relevant applications. Raids are also being conducted to apprehend the absconding suspect, Anshu Kumar (alias Anurag Kumar). The raiding team comprised Sub-Inspector Rajeshwar Prasad Yadav, Numan Ali Shaukat, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Javed Alam, and other police personnel.

It is worth noting that the Nagar Police have achieved significant success in tackling motorcycle theft cases in recent times. The police have not only recovered more than eighteen stolen motorcycles but have also arrested approximately eighteen seasoned criminals belonging to various distinct gangs.
